Veronica Kyle

Veronica Kyle is the outreach director at Chicago’s Faith in Place. Chicago Wilderness named Veronica’s Migration & Me Program a Force of Nature Award winner. Veronica was selected to join Chicago’s mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot’s Environmental Transition Committee-a great opportunity to ensure that environmental justice is a key priority for that administration. In her work, Veronica seeks to bring people to the table who are often not involved in conversations around Earth care, including African-American, Latino, and aluent suburb communities. She has done this work by creating awardwinning programs that bring about diversity and cross-cultural community engagement. Veronica’s work has been nationally recognized as the 2013 Audubon/Toyota Green Fellow and a 2014 Northern America Association of Environmental Educators Fellow awards. She is currently serving her fourth term as an appointed Environmental Justice Commissioner for the State of Illinois. Veronica, along with Valerie Rawls, is the co-founder of the EcoWomanist Institute, which is the main reason we were a part of this project.
